Caterleisure Group raise over £10,000 for children and young people with cancer during their 40th Anniversary year

To mark Caterleisure’s 40th Anniversary year we decided to set a fundraising target of £6,800.

Colleagues across all our sites exceeded all expectations and smashed this target by over 50%, to help CLIC Sargent support children and young people with cancer.

Christine Thorpe, Managing Director at Caterleisure Group said: “All our colleagues across our sites have really pulled together to make sure we hit our target, and due to the exceptional drive and spirit of the team who climbed the Yorkshire Three Peaks and all our clients, family and friends sponsoring us we really did smash our target.

It’s fantastic to know that Caterleisure are directly helping CLIC Sargent and those families who need the support most and we are continuing to support this fantastic charity through into 2019.”

Last year in Yorkshire, CLIC Sargent supported 500 families, giving out 421 financial grants to the value of £85,379 helping families to cope with the additional cost of cancer. CLIC Sargent’s Cancer Costs report found that families spend an extra £600 every month while their child is having cancer treatment.

Jenny Dixon, Fundraising Engagement Manager for North & West Yorkshire at CLIC Sargent, said:

“When cancer strikes young lives we fight tirelessly to limit the damage it causes beyond their health. We rely entirely on donations to fund our vital work and we can’t thank Caterleisure Group enough for their fantastic efforts.

“The team have raised an incredible amount from taking part in various fundraising activities across their sites, including the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge, and the money they have raised will make a massive difference to local families, by helping us ensure they are getting the right support they need.”
